Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Patricia, what low priced delta theta wave aid would you recomend to start with?

Those ice crushes are interesting, but would be a slow-motion distress for the owners of the houses they trash.

Patricia, I remember several months ago when you were discussing the topic of delta theta waves.  I had never heard of it, so out of curiosity I did a Google search and educated myself a little bit.  In doing so, I found a plethora of sleep and relaxation soundtracks on YouTube.  Since then, I've been listening and falling asleep to some chosen favorites of mine that play on my laptop in my bedroom.  I've also been using them in hotels with a small portable speaker hooked up to my smartphone when I travel.  I thank you for introducing me to something new and very beneficial.

—the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labor’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast
Glad to hear that your sleep is improving, Patricia
I've had depression/angst related sleep problems over the years and have tried various (sensible) remedies: relaxation massage, relaxing music (a CD series called Musicure) and small doses of Mianserin, a tetracyclic antidep. med. All have helped. Also had to wear a heart monitor for 48hours because of irregular beating. The problem is now gone but the cure was, unfortunatly, a return to tobacco. Feel a bit "damned if I do, damned if I don't" with that.
Have a great weekend, lovely people.

Mindy, I guess you forgot about that 50 bucks you owe me.

Glad you can get more sleep now Patricia.  I'm going to look into those CDs as I only get 5 hrs a night.

Patricia, getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep is indeed a vast improvement.  I'm glad to hear the cd's are working for you.  I understand your apprehension of using drugs to help you sleep.  Getting that additional sleep certainly must make you feel better throughout the day.  Hopefully over time you'll be able to extend your sleep to longer periods.

Mindy, I've had to wear a heart monitor a couple of times in the past.  Throughout the years (starting in my early 20's) I've had periods of tachycardia (fast heart rate).  In later years I experienced anxiety and occasional panic attacks.  Through it all, and after having stress tests and EKG's, it was extremely reassuring to learn that I have a normal, strong heart.  And starting on high blood-pressure medication a few years ago has pretty much eliminated any problems I was having.
