Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

It's amazing what you discover when you go looking for something you had no idea you'd find.  On an impulse, I pulled up Eric Whitacre's website to see if he had created any new pieces.  It would seem that he has: a song cycle called The City and…Continue

Something Beautiful – Nathan Phelps & Seth Andrews

And it is beautiful, too, indeed, I think some of Seth Andrews' best work.  Interesting point: rather than Seth's dulcet baritone doing the narration, this piece presses Nathan Phelps' deep bass intonation into service, bringing a different flavor…Continue

I'm also annoyed by "Like us on Facebook" every where I look.

I don't have a Smarty Pants Phone (made me smile) either, but I do have a cell phone from Verizon that only costs me $8.33/month.

I have never been comfortable with FB, and that's why I unsubscribed less than a week after I first signed up with them (some of my  classmates wanted to start a BHS '57 page)...many years ago.  I am also beginning to resent seeing "Like us on Facebook" every-bloody-where....on web sites, printed on products I buy from a supermarket, Awful Depot, Schwan' name it.

My frriend lori, who publishes The Pet Press, has to keep reminding rescue organizations, and other non-profits that we will announce their fundraising and adoption events FREE iin every issue.  Just posting something on FB isn't enough to get a good turnout because they are only "preaching to the choir." Not everyone who has a computer uses FB, and *gasp!* not all of her readers have computers....or even SmartyPants Phones.

People, especially younger ones, think that if they have the latest gadget, everyone must.  Sorry, Charlie...I don't even have a cell phone.  (And try finding a pay phone to call a taxi anymore... .they're gone!)

Atheism is not a religion. When asked for my religion or religious affiliation, I always answer NONE.

Grinning Cat, love the bald young lady and agree with your ? of Facebook listing atheist as "religious affiliation"!

Joseph, I hope the "right" people pay attention to the anti-religious songs you sneak into your playlists! Let us know how it goes....

And yes, I saw Eats, Shoots and Leaves in a bookstore, and enjoyed browsing through it.

Facebook lists being atheist as a "religious affiliation"?

Joseph, good luck.

How come facebook doesn't have two separate columns, one for Theists and one for Non-Theist, then a person can define their beliefs or non-beliefs?  When I entered Atheist, I thought it was a simple thing no biggie.  On my time line, it said that I had changed my religious affiliation (WTF)!!!  What did they assume that I was?!!

Hey guys,  facebook is pathetic!  Most of the people I've been hanging around with throw up a whole bunch of jesus crap!  I've known these people at various times, throughout my life.  No one has asked me what I believe, even though I post music of an adult theme.  No one has mentioned about how raunchy the songs are or what effect it might have on their children!  I have hatched a plan!  I want to see how many of the posers are really paying attention!  I will continue to post the music.  I will then post the music with a warning of adult content to see what happens!  Then for shits and giggles I will introduce anti-religious songs into the mix and see what happens!  I want to know how many of these people pay attention!!  It will be interesting to find out!  I have started posting explicit music and I have had NO complaints!  I know people are listening because I am getting a good number of thumbs up!  I don't know where I am going with this, but so far , it's a blast!  I believe the ones that have already given the thumbs up have failed!  How can you give a thumbs up to raunchy music and then turn around and say that raunchy music is a tool of the devil?!!!!  I am having more fun than a barrel of monkeys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ha.  Yesterday, my sister posted a thank you to her boss for paying for a weekend get away trip (sort of..).  My sister said, "Praise god for the trip that my boss has completely paid for"!!!  Isn't that the dumbest shit?
