Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

degrading love — part one (TheraminTrees)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Grinning Cat Nov 22. 11 Replies

Love is by many considered among the highest of positive emotions.  Yet when love of the type offered by deities is examined, something seems to go seriously wrong.  The love of Yahweh seems less a gift than a demand, not so much beneficence as a…Continue

Just put him on report. I think I passed the test. ;)

For the record, I am generally in favor of free speech. This guy's post, IMHO, crossed the line.

OK, Brent.  Now for the test.

Where can you find the Report an Issue button?

I am counting on you to get this right.  lol

Thanks folks. In soccer terms, showing him the red card and sending him off now.

Hi Brent, the report button is at the bottom right hand side of every page.  "Report an Issue"

Just click that link when you're on the offending page.  There's a small category to check (Adult, Abusive, Bug, Fraud, Spam, Other.)

You don't need to put any remarks in the "Descibe Your Issue" box, but it helps if you want to clarify your reason for the offense.

I have used that link mostly to report spammers.  As far as other issues, we are pretty lucky that they are few and far between.

A few thoughts on some recent posts:

Pardon my Icelandic, but WTF is that "cultsmasher" troll thinking? Oh wait a minute...he's NOT! Trying to find the report button but haven't found it. All I could do after reading that joker's post was cue up the Twilight Zone theme music...

k.h., I don't envy you for your jury duty recently. Based on what I saw, that had to be emotionally gut-wrenching. I almost had a similar case a couple of years ago in STL City when I got called to jury duty. It was a case of a young father who punched his son in the stomach and killed him on a Christmas Day a few years ago. I didn't get selected for that jury; he was found guilty and copped several years (I'm not sure exactly how long). I was going to do my duty regardless but I think I was glad I didn't get selected.

Saw that video of the train passengers helping their fellow passenger in Perth. That sounds like Australian folks - they look out for everyone. Good folks, the Aussies; I'd shout out a round of Victoria Bitter with 'em.

Carl, love your cartoon of the day your computer went down! Yup, that is how I feel, too.

Sent a report. Thanks, booklover, for calling my attention to this zealot.
