Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Hello Friends,I was ruminating a bit today on my sixty-some years existence. My mind went back to teenage years when I first figured out religion is not only obnoxiously loud, but also nothing I wanted anything to do with. Truly. I knew by age 15…Continue

I like the cat tunnel sofa the best.  Actually I like everything, but some of the wall stuff is just too elaborate to think about.  I wonder how long it took the cat to explore that sofa.  Heh!

Chris, thank you!  I'm looking out the window at a lightly overcast morning, waiting for some rain clouds to materialize.  *sigh*

@Patricia, Phphphbtbtbtbttt!

A packet of rain, Sk8eycat? We've got plenty - I could use a day without getting wet when I walk to the supermarket. Watch the post!

We haven't had any winter to speak of here...no rain near the coast = no snow pack in the Sierras.  We're already in semi-drought, and summer will be worse.  Please send me some snow!

Thank you.

No, Mindy.  I didn't see you.  Must have been while I was taking a nap.  Hope you had a good time.  I'm sure it was snowing while you were here.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am so tired of this winter.  I usually handle the winter season pretty well.  I don't mind the snow (and we've had a fair share this year), but the prolonged frigid temperatures are wearing me down.  It's just constantly uncomfortably cold.  I don't remember the last time the temperature was above freezing.  There's been no break in this cycle.  We're lucky if it gets up into the 20's.  And that doesn't even last a whole day.  I'm fortunate to have a job that takes me to California, Arizona, and Florida this time of year, but even that hasn't been enough to ease the pain of having to return to ice-age conditions week after week.  I hope we don't get screwed out of having a good Spring this year.  Mary, mother of Jesus in heaven I'll be very pissed if we are.  [end of rant.]

I just went to the NBC website to see what Olympic events were supposed to be on tonight, and the first thing I saw was, "Follow the Medal Count on FACEBOOK!"  Gaaaaah!  The LEAST important part of the whole event.

I think I'll turn in early.

Patricia, I'm stealing that lovely post.
