Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

There is a petition being sponsored by whitehouse.gov to remove "in god we trust" as the national motto and replace it with the original: "E Pluribus, Unum" or "Out of Many, One."  As of this writing, there are around 11,000 signatures on it, with…Continue

Sk8eycat, I did the same thing a few weeks ago.  Accidentally stopped following this group (it's kinda easy to do.)  I got a little suspect when I wasn't getting any notices of activity.

Regarding your cats, I think we all know what you need to do to fix the situation.  You'll just have to move to a new house that has a basement.  No other way around it.

Hello again!  I goofed, and accidentally clicked on "Stop Following" about the same time that our adopted Basement Cat moved in.

She was upset because we don't have a basement, so she took over the den/junk room.  Pumpkin's nose was out of joint because he thought that room was his private property.  Things are finally smoothing out a little...no more snarling and hissing, anyway.

*whew!* I have an awful lot of catching up to do in here!

(LOVE the Cat Belt, but I imagine there was quite a bit of clawing and yowling before the cat accepted it.)

Well it is Friday!! Yay

Mindy, yes, that is odd.  lol   I really like listening to music or having it in the background.  The genre I choose depends on my mood or what activity I'm doing.  (Yes, I love pure silence as well.)

I've always been annoyed when people have the television on in their home but aren't watching it.  A lot of businesses also have TV's which I find equally disruptive and annoying.  There's nothing worse than having to be subjected against your will to "The View" or some soap opera.

Beautiful, Carl! Reminds me of The Village - nice movie in which the beginnings of religion show up.

So true, Patricia.  Now all I need is a cat.  I have plenty of books and music.

Wow, Joan.  That's a great whale video.  Captivating.

Ruth, your photo choice of Tippi is so precious. Just think of how many experiences she had and learned. She was really at risk with all those animals, and I am sure she had to learn to be discerning. The site didn't come through for me, but I found the photo to which you referred in my mail. So I am reposting the site in case others had the same problem.  I don't mean to intrude.
