Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Joan Denoo 19 hours ago. 22 Replies

The day finally arrived.  Ken Ham's Ark Encounter opened on 7 July, 2016 ... to something a bit less than Disney-sized crowds, and more than a couple dissenting voices!  Seth Andrews has gathered a quartet of significant participants in the protest…Continue

The Gun Industry's Killing in Killing (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Chris G Jul 20. 15 Replies

America's Best Christian has finally acknowledged that there may be one outfit which has her belief system beat for it's leverage on the government.  No great surprise, it's the NRA and the gun industries.  Betty's a good loser, though.  She's made…Continue

Seth Andrews has been through the mill as it comes to dealing with those who insist that their faith in a deity is not just valid but necessary to their lives and to all lives.  Having dealt with that gauntlet and come out the other side an atheist,…Continue

We Are America / Love Has No Labels (John Cena - Ad Council)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Joan Denoo Jul 10. 3 Replies

It seems to be a repeating pattern: I wander around the internet and inevitably, I stumble onto all manner of stuff.  It happens all the time on YouTube, and as you doubtless have deduced, yours truly tripped over something a couple minutes ago,…Continue

Journey is a beauty! As far as I know, she has a tabby-pattern that has a strong relation to wildcats.

The photo is Journey on top of the kids easel in the family room. She climbs walls, curtain, cupboards, and has killed the pet rat, gerbil, and hamster.  We secured the pets in cages and thought all was well, however Journey figured out ways to get into the cages and do her dastardly deeds.

I don't think they will get anything smaller than a goat next time.

There was a little mouse leaving its black specks from kitchen to bathroom and seemed to like the room I slept in at Laura's. I could hear him/her climbing around on the inner springs. The dogs and cats knew there was something that smelled good, but they couldn't catch it.

We brought in super mouser, Journey, and the only thing she caught was eating my nose, ear, hair, toes, eyebrows and biting my body through the blankets. She is very young and very physically active. I suppose I got some sleep the two nights we had her in for the big hunt, but not very much. So we returned her to her home at my grand-daughter's where she does a tremendous job with mice, moles and crickets.

Her markings are quite remarkable, very similar to Bengal cat breeds. As far as we know, she is a farm cat from farm cats.

Here are some Bengal cat markings:

We looked at four Mummers Fancy Brigades and deleted the rest, too boring. Hercules is getting to us in Phila now.

Hippo Gnu Ears ebry-buddies!

Did anyone watch the Rose Parade?  I slept till 11:30 AM.  It was noisy around here last night for hours...sounded like a war zone.  Whatever happened to churches ringing their bells at midnight?  They ought to do something useful once in a while.

Thanks Ian. Reposting Patrick Steward as Jean-Luc Picard. He knows the difference between wishing and thinking with action.
