Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Loren, if I draw an accurate copy of MoBombHead, does that mean I win a "free" scholarship to the Famous Artists School? ;>P

Good day, All.  Just checking in.  Have a few days off work and can relax and sleep in.  Yay!  It's 11:30 AM and I'm still drinking my morning coffee.  I've been a bit sleep deprived the last several days.  Early morning wake-ups across four time zones doesn't help.  I'm not 20 years old any more!

Mindy, I'm glad you and your daughter have such a close relationship.  She seems to be comfortable opening up to you, and that is important...for both of you.  A nice walk in a state park sounds very nice.  I enjoy that myself.

Joan, I really can't add any additional expressions of caring and admiration for you that hasn't already been said by others.  Please add my voice to the group.

Oh! I just read this page of comments from each of you, and I am overjoyed and overwhelmed with feelings of support and care. Yes, it is tough! I am up to it. And I have heard from so many who have been through it, I know the outcome will be restored health.
Tony, you have a way with words and images that inspire me and I am sure each one of us. Your gift of tender expression feels so ... comforting. Thank you dear friend.
Patricia, your "Canadians turning away from organized religion" reassures me. I feel especially strong about awakening others to the possibility that there is another way to live and this is a perfect example. I don't intend to tell others how to live or what to believe, I just want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to consider other options.
Steph, your cheering tulips remind me that I have this incredibly season to provide me comfort as I work at healing, and have you as a friend.
Lillie, I am happy to learn of Fiona, an elegant name for a fine cat. She is a lucky kitty to have such good care.
Loren, I know you are on my team, you always have been. I value your friendship and good sense and funny way of prodding me.
Mindy, I am really glad to learn you had a nice visit and sad about your daughter's depression. I know she has good medical care, and you are a good sounding board. Does she feel that she is not up to the task of adulthood? Living in such a chaotic world as we have right now can even put old, experienced people on edge. Perhaps she feels overwhelmed. Don't let her read my economic or political stuff. She needs more stability and I can't be good for her on those issues. The only thing I can think of is find things you know she can do and encourage her to do them. Another option might be to volunteer in an animal shelter. Sometimes caring for other living things might help. I like Ruth's idea of walking in nature. I think about you and your daughter and do hope she gets beyond depression to full living.
Ruth, what can I say that I haven't already said? Well, you are a great inspiration to me, clearly showing the way to express what it means to be a free thinker, and encouraging me/us to avoid poo virus. Your contributions on climate change educate us all so we can spread accurate information to others. Your funny bone delights me, always sending a message both happy and pointed.

Joan, I agree with you that we have to be smart about our health. Thinking of you.

Patricia, thanks for the good news about organized religion in Canada.

Walking outdoors in nature is supposed to be helpful for depression, booklover.

Thanks for keeping in touch.
