Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

To me, this is a big deal (though it may not be to them): two great YouTube video producers have joined forces to deliver one very powerful message on an important subject.  TheraminTrees and QualiaSoup (brothers, I believe) have recently released a…Continue

The myth of religions

The creation myth of civilizations instructs men to dominate, to conquer, to go forth and multiply. No reasonable person would pay attention to such a god. No hunter-gatherer receives such a senseless message from wise elders. However, that idea…Continue

10 Tricks from 46 (Betty Bowers)

Apparently, Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has been slumming.  That is to say, she's been talking to Mike Pence [gasp!].  It would seem as though Mike has offered some of his not-so-personal tricks of the trade on how to be a 21st century…Continue

Great news Carl, I'm so glad! And fantastic that you've got siblings who would help you!

I'm very glad to hear that, Carl. Hope you make a good match.

Carl, this is very good news and gives you time for what needs to be done. Do you feel as you normally do, or do you have symptoms? How are your spirits holding up? You know how concerned I am about preventing depression, or catching it early if you begin to feel down. This all happened so fast, you had no time to get adjusted. In some ways that is good, Go in for a routine exam and find something that needs attention, NOW. It doesn't give you time to chew on the cud of worry and stress. So, you know what needs to be done; thankfully you have siblings willing to be donors. I hope they match you.

Joan, thanks for asking about me.  I had two doctor appointments today and I have some positive news to report.  My kidneys are stable right now and I'm doing well.  I'm doing well enough that the doctor wants to hold off on a preparatory vein surgery that is required for dialysis.  In the meantime all the medical paperwork has finally been completed for myself and my brother and two sisters for a transplant operation.  Once blood work can be done, I will know if one of the them will be a blood match with me. Today's news widens the window of time for this, so hopefully a transplant operation can occur before dialysis is needed.

And Joan, I have to agree with the others truly are an inspiration to all of us!

Thanks Spud! It is odd. For some reason you and Ruth's computer aren't totally compatible with mine. I am surely glad we have friends to third party our problem!

I guess I will just call for an interpreter the next time it happens.

I did get a nice chuckle. Thanks Mind.

Hello everyone. It seems that you are all having positive experiences. That's good to hear.

I've returned from a weekend in England. Spent a couple of hours at a niece's wedding party, which was nice. Got to see a lot of the family but had trouble talking to them as the music was too loud. Otherwise all eating, relaxing and tea. Very pleasant. My trouser button broke on the journey home, which says a lot.

Mindy, your comment didn't come through that you sent an hour ago. It is probably some photo that will make me laugh. Or some information I don't want to miss.

I want to read everything you write and for some reason you and Ruth have comments that don't to my Wall. I see your name, but no comment

I'm glad it's so easy, Joan!
