Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

sk8eycat, I receive Social Security and the cost of living increase is 1.7%.  I have heard that Medicare is going up by 5 dollars a month!  They make about 450% profit off of the sick!  F**k*n Bazzterds!!

Booklover - thanks for the smiles with the lolcats.

I love them!

sk8eycat I understand your rant. My mom has Medicare and is encountering the same problems you describe. I am helping her any way that I can.

Napoleon, your Mignonne is reinstalled at the top of Comment Wall. OK. I shall put a bunch of photos on to fill up this page.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Now, the piece is Le Relou-Garou.

Are you, or someone else mad at me? If you are, please contact me and we can talk, find a solution.

sk8eycat, your rant is a powerful one, you spell out the problems and their effects on you. You don't whine or accuse, you state facts. Now, let's think who your allies are. Your pharmacist, surely, and your new dentist. How do your legislators vote on these issues? Are there others in your community with similar problems? Perhaps the internet has people who have legitimate complaints as well are willing to share. Have you ever talked to your Senator or Congress people? If they are part of the the "austerity" party, that is a dead end; however, you could try.
Yes, our health care system is a mess and it will not get better until and unless enough people take a stand for health care for all. There is no reason for loss of benefits simply because someone else wants more profits. It is insane!
Another option is to take charge of your diabetes ... I too have Type 2 diabetes and I can pretty much control it with diet and exercise. I realize not all people can. BP is also manageable for some people by using stress reducer exercises. My son-in-law reduced his BP that was terribly dangerously high by learning relaxation and stress management. He also gave up trying to be right all the time and in control. He is a much finer person to be around. These techniques don't work for everyone.
In the meantime, love yourself, unconditionally. Know that whatever you feel reflects your body trying to give you information. To live in balance, pay attention your feelings, thoughts, fears, anger, jealousy, depression, resentment. these all attempt to get your attention. Experiment with thinking positive thought and noticing things for which you are grateful.
