Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

The myth of religions

The creation myth of civilizations instructs men to dominate, to conquer, to go forth and multiply. No reasonable person would pay attention to such a god. No hunter-gatherer receives such a senseless message from wise elders. However, that idea…Continue

10 Tricks from 46 (Betty Bowers)

Apparently, Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has been slumming.  That is to say, she's been talking to Mike Pence [gasp!].  It would seem as though Mike has offered some of his not-so-personal tricks of the trade on how to be a 21st century…Continue

I can't understand why anyone that thinks "God's only true church" is doing anything wrong, are not questioning the whole thing.

I agree Felaine and Carl.  It's crazy.  I also don't get those that want the moron church to allow non-temple-worthy people to attend weddings in the temple.

Here's a link to a blog by a guy in SLC...I believe he's an ex-Moron...certainly an atheist:

Scroll down for the billboards, they're GREAT!

Yes, sk8eycat, and those women were denied entrance to the meeting (surprise, surprise.)

All people, women and men, need to quit these back-assed organizations.  I just don't understand the allure, other than the non-religious social aspect of it.

There's some kind of big semi-annual meeting in SLC this weekend, and one aspect puzzles the hell out of me.  a group of Moron women are agitating to be admitted to the all-male priesthood.  WHY?

Why do women want to have anything to do with any organization that has kept them in perpetual childhood, and as property for more than 2000 years?  There are female rabbis, ministers, evangelists, everything but Craplick and Moron priests (the worst offenders), and women want to join both those priesthoods.   I just don't get it.

If they feel they must worship that old fiend and his crazy "son," why don't they just start an all-women church, and bar men from the leadership?

Yes, "JERK" seems like the best explanation.

Returning from atheism to moronism is like the old fallacy, "No True Scotsman".

My hunch, he got cold feet. Happily before any legal entanglement occurred.

Spud, the way I see it, people don't come to atheism through some kind of epiphany.  It's via an intellectually honest and well-reasoned process.  Either that Mormon kid wasn't an atheist like he said he was, or he is an atheist but is being pressured by family to conform.

The third option is that he is an atheist but is having second thoughts about getting married and moving to Arizona with this girl.  Claiming now that he's religious may be his cowardly way of slithering out of the situation.
