Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Speak English? YOU FIRST! (Betty Bowers)

Honestly, the title to this piece is badly under-representative of the content.  To be far more accurate, what we have here is Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, going on a rant.  Before you say it ... Say WHAAAA?  Betty Bowers ranting? …Continue

10 Things About Patriotism (Betty Bowers)

It seems as though lately, Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is evolving into America's Best Patriot.  She has recently been taking some fairly well-aimed shots at a certain Orange Nightmare and his sycophantic hangers-on, regarding the…Continue

A Prayer for Our Nation (Betty Bowers)

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet.  Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has seen what is going on with the current occupant of the Oval Office, and my impression is that she is not at all happy with it.  True to her citizenship,…Continue

Patricia, yes, the clinic gives me all I need of Aloe Vera, 4 time a day; Silver Sulfadiazine Cream, as needed; pure refined Emo Oil, at night; and Hydrocortisone Cream 1%, as needed.

These all give me great relief, especially now that the blisters all popped and my first layer of skin began peeling off. The second layer of skin has several holes in it to reveal whatever is under that. This is what they called, "skin breakdown";  the radiologist checks it weekly, and P.A. check it daily. There is no infection, and I am able to keep the area clean. All the other entry points are fine, just sunburned; I think there were five different angles they had to shoot because of my heart, lungs, and pacemaker.

I use Cetaphil, a mild lotion, for cleansing.

If you have a suggestion, I will gladly look into it. I was alerted that this was to be expected because the last five daily treatments were focused on the tumor area itself, not the surrounding tissues. It was kind of like getting shot with a shot gun for five days a week for five weeks, and then shot five days a week for one week with a rifle.

Everybody, get your cancer check up. Drs caught mine very early and I had no symptoms that I or they picked up. It was the mammogram that found those beastly devils.

Joan, I'm usually not a big fan of those auto-tune melody songs, but I really like the one you just posted a lot.  It's quite catchy.  I'm glad to hear you're getting a reprieve from treatment and now having the opportunity for your body to relax and regain some state of normalcy.  All my best to you!

Mindy, I love the taco cat.  Oh, yeah.....and you're dog's snout.  Cute picture.

Symphony of Science - Secret of the Stars

Cold, windy, clear skies, a beautiful autumn day! No chemo, no radiation, I'm free! Feel great although weary. My tissues hurt like blazes, literally, and I am healing. Ruth, you and I can just sit back, take our leisure, and heal; without feeling guilty!

Ruth, time for all those wonderful fall soups and chowders for the next two weeks.  Glad everything went well.

Thanks, everyone for your concern. Tthe surgery was far easier than I'd feared. After the topical anesthesia, the surgeon used computer controlled anesthesia. The computer makes sure the anesthesia flow is slow and steady. Later the traditional injections, but not all at once. *sigh of relief* It was as pain free as one could imagine. (Horray!)

Now I'm on ice packs every half hour, no gym, antibiotics four times a day, Naproxen sodium, yucky mouth washes, no hot food or beverages. I'm also on totally soft food for two weeks. The antibiotic-caused diarrhea is already starting to kick in.  :(  Oh well. The tooth will be worth it.

Nice flowers, Joan.

Will we get to see your new hairdo, Chris?

Funny drawings, Patricia.

Thank you, Carl and Joan, how kind you always are! I'm all right. Got a lot of fresh air and a new hairdo. The streets are full of leaves, torn off branches and dead umbrellas, but the cleaning has started and life goes on as if nothing happened. The storm made wonderful pictures and happy cats - and victims, yes.

And here comes Luna: she supports the "Freeze all work until cat decides to move" so that gives me a good excuse to sit at the pc and NOT start household chores.

Best wishes for your surgery, Ruth!

Take care, Ruth.  Wishing you well and a smooth procedure.

Joan, your windows vs Ford had me in stitches. I was like, "Right!", "Oh yeah!", "That too!" #3 (rebooting) is the best.

That storm's scary, Flying Atheist.

Thanks for the cute LOLs, Steph and booklover.

Speaking of CAt Ladies. I do this (often).

Tomorrow I'm in for dental surgery. :( Might not be online much.

Hugs, all.
