Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Yes, thanks, Ian, for Data's "Ode to Spot", and the dangers of drug-sniffing work... and Booklover, that reflective cat is great!

Sorry this is a little late, but relevant to the season:

["Blondie" from Oct. 31. In case the image disappears:
Elmo trick-or-treating, wearing a TV housing over his head: "Careful, Mr. B... treat-gobbling Emory here is a cozy friend of 'big candy'! Plus last year he voted three times to ring neighbors' doorbells and run! Can we really trust this sugar-scarfing flip-flopper?"
Blondie to Dagwood: "So you think Elmo had the scariest costume ever?!" He replies, "Yeah, he dressed up as a campaign commercial!!!"]

Ian - love your Data from Star Trek picture. He was my favorite character from the Next Generation. I also like that funny dog.

Booklover - Love the black cat you posted. Beautiful!

Sounds like you had a fun night.

LOL Thanks for Ode to Spot, Ian! I only got half a dozen trick or treat visitors this year.

sk8eycat, I felt guilty giving out the miniature treats that were sold in grocery stores this year. You're right, it's nothing like when I was a kid and we actually got candy about half a full sized bar. But full sized bars were bigger then too.

I was p#ssed that the only pumpkin pie spice my store had was a tiny half-size container at twice the price of full sized ones not so long ago.

So many people locally are still without power, it being promised in 7 to 10 days, that we've started looking on line at generators. There will be a next time.

Ian, that poor animal! Is it OK? I do hope he isn't as bad as he appears. A good story line for the photos.

No one here but my black cat: I've seen Halloween decorations in shops, but no one I heard of celebrates it here.

I'm plodding around on a prehistoric laptop now that my pc is in repair - it takes hours to type a sentence, but I'm still here...
