Profanely Happy

Not so much a group; more a state of mind. For those who achieved happiness after discarding the supernatural and for those who never knew any better.

… the happiness of an atheist is neither the vacuous enjoyment of a fool, nor the short-lived pleasure of a rogue. It is rather the expression of a disposition that has ceased to torture itself with foolish fancies, or perplex itself with useless beliefs.
Chapman Cohen

The learn'd is happy nature to explore,
The fool is happy that he knows no more.

No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change.

As I go through all kinds of feelings and experiences in my journey through life -- delight, surprise, chagrin, dismay -- I hold this question as a guiding light: "What do I really need right now to be happy?" What I come to over and over again is that only qualities as vast and deep as love, connection and kindness will really make me happy in any sort of enduring way.

"Happiness is not a state to arrive at, rather, a manner of traveling."
