Daily Kos: Sen. Thom Tillis says restaurant employees shouldn't be required to wash their hands after using the terlet:  GROSS!

Randy, congratulations on walking 2001 miles besides normal walking.  That would be 5.48 miles/day.

I haven't walked for several years now, but should start again this week, because I'm getting a laptop today, and will take it to the library to access the internet instead of paying the rip-off Internet Service Providers $50/month or more.

I will probably ride my recumbent trike to the library most of the time instead of walking the 3.9 miles round trip.  When riding the trike, I will probably often go other places while I'm at it, like down to the river to watch the ducks, or go shopping.

From today's Jesus God News:

Members of the Vaccination Truth Conference, which works to preserve some of the world's rarest diseases, voted to change their name to Bug Chasers.

"The vote took slightly longer than expected, due to an outbreak of leprosy hindering an accurate count of hands."

I tallied up my 2014 totals and figured I walked 2001 miles last year, not including just regular daily walking around (see below). I'm impressed with myself. That would be like walking from my Indiana house to Los Angeles, or Denver and back.

Dr. Mercola says "NO!" to flu shots. The only time I ever remember getting the flu was the only year I got a flu shot--40 years ago.

Well, I'm into my winter exercise routine now. That means no more outdoor walking, whether it be down the road or on the golf course. I can walk in the basement, just fewer miles. I'm beginning my "high intensity interval training" workouts now. It'll get the ol' heart a-pumping, a cardio addition I wasn't getting by simply walking. My "HIIT" regiman includes boxing, stationary bike, weight lifting and some running. Not all at once--just a rotation for variety.

Got my flu shot today.  The nurse asked if I had a pneumonia shot after 65.  I said no.  She said they recommended it, so I got that also.

I don't care what the rest of America thinks of our president. I love him!

Coconut oil for a skin rash. I'll try to remember that, Plinius.

A kind neighbour gave me a cheap and healthy solution for a rash of unknown origin, possibly stress-related. My GP talked of allegy and gave me a big jar of hydrocortizone cream - not something you want to use on your whole body twice a day. The neighbour gave me a jar of coconut oil. I tried that first, and got rid of the rash within a week.

Deidre, this site has been rather dormant for awhile. I just wish it carried a different photo. Yuck to that muscle man. To answer your question, I quit serious running last year at age 70. Hate running in the winter snow and ice and cold, and in the summer, I walk 18 holes of golf (6 mi), so I'm too pooped to go running. If you decide to enter, good luck with the training and all!
