If you were dying of thirst, would it be OK to drink your urine?

I guessed wrong.  How about you?

Yes, we all need a little bit of salt. I still try to watch my intake.

Too little salt is probably bad for you.  A study of 100,000 people showed that those that consumed 3 to 6 grams a day were healthier than those the consumed less than that, as well as more.

That sounds great, Randall. I hope the Summer heat doesn't hold you back.

I love to walk. Just plain simple walking. I'm getting in about 8 miles a day, 6 on the golf course (est.). I don't care what Mark Twain says!

It's finally Spring! That means emerging from my basement exercise regimen. No more weights, boxing, walking in circles for 6 months. I can get my exercise by gardening, golfing, jogging/walking/hiking, etc.--all in the great outdoors. Yippee!!

G.C.: I left a comment on that "article" at the food group. Thanks.

I just read that some 70% of imported extra-virgin olive oil in the U.S. is substandard, possibly adulterated or even fake! (Italy has a police branch trained to literally use the smell test.)

According to this article, Kirkland Signature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (the high-quality house brand from Costco) passed UCDavis's taste and chemistry tests (which many imported brands don't).

This article talks about heart health, and says that exercise will not counteract the bad effects of eating wrong, and also that too much exercise is as bad for the heart, as not exercising at all:

However, the part that annoyed me is that many doctors at the American Heart Association meeting last year when researchers held a seminar to discuss the new findings, feared that the public would get the wrong message about exercise.

If someone is stupid enough to get the wrong message in such a simple finding, then I think perhaps we would be better off without them.
