i need your help!

i am sorry to bother all of you, but i need some help with a graphic thing. i need a letter "A" in the style of the atheist "A" [zapfino font], but it needs to be in black and have no background, so it can be be neatly superimposed onto another image. i am trying to make a new logo for my local atheist club. i figure that someone who knows what he/she is doing could probably figure this out in a minute or two, but it appears to be beyond me.

many thanks for your help,

Thanks for the gamedev link, I have been working with games in actionscript but I am trying to move to Java and hopefully C++ if I ever have the time.

Firefox is set as my default browser and Thunderbird as my default mail and they always seem to open fine with links and such. Odd?

I thought it was annoying that every time someone sent me a link or I checked my mail on MSN messenger, the link would open in Internet Explorer, Microsoft's standard browser. I wanted my links to open in Mozilla Firefox.

I discovered that if you download a couple of MSN extensions you can get your links and mail to be opened by Mozilla Firefox or whatever browser you have set as default. Awesome.

Ha ha, Explorer is getting chomped by Firefox. Owned.

If there is anyone here interested in game design, is a great place for that.

I'm using a Toshiba (Satellite M65). It has 1GB RAM, 128MB Nvidia Geforce Go 6600, and an Intel 2.00GHz processor. I've been reading a couple books on programming in C++ trying to master the language and the basic concepts of all computer languages. I see at least a couple thousand more pages in my future before I can easily build games slightly more complicated than pong.

I don't know anything about linux.

Sounds like a place for me, I've been into computers since the 70's, anyone remember the PET? I'm 100% self learned, so there is a lot I don't know, but I have built several computers, and I ran an in-home repair business when I was sick and unable to work my real job. I will try to keep up with the tech talk from you geeks of "Higher Learning"..

I am a newbie when it comes to computers, kinda...I just got done building my first computer! I have used computers since high school (Class of 89) but never more than writing papers...Then the INTERNET.
It was not until I had a spinal cord injury did I become much better at using a computer because it was all I had to pass the time in bed. So, I began thinking about building my own and I just completed it...Please do not laugh at my set-up it is my first! Well, you can laugh at it as long as you promise to help me improve it, if needed?
I actually like Windows VISTA...Maybe it is because of my lack of experience with anything else, but I like it.

VISTA Ult. 64bit
Intel Q6600 cpu
Crucial 4x1GB RAM
BFG Nividia 8800GT OC2 512MB
2 x Seagate 500GB 7200rpm 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb
My case is massive! It is a Thermaltake Tx (Entertainment Center)
I decided to go with such a huge case so that it could sit on my table and I could work easily inside it...My hands are not very good in small places...Plus, this thing has enough expansion room to last a while. I think it has room for a "Mini ITX Kit MB" ?
I took lots of time sleeving all my wires and cables with UV reactive mesh and shrink...I have two CC Black Lights in it so everything glows...There is knock outs for water cooling(maybe next project?)
I am just getting familiar with the cool games, well one really and I suck! It's called Crysis!
Anyway, it is fun for me and I guess that is what counts?

I would like to learn more about using Linux, but I know nothing about it...So, I am joining this group to learn what I can from you expert godless nerds! LOL! I am a godless newbie nerd!
