Long time fan of this man. We were both born on Nov. 27 and just last year I built a stratocaster which was inspired by Jimi and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd).
I know it is a useless endeavor, but I can't help but imagine what we missed by his life being cut short. He revolutionized the idea of how to play guitar in a few short years. What an amazing man!
Gotta mention he was a PROUD member of the 101st Airborne, The Screaming Eagles!! And didn't take kindly to criticism of his fellow soldiers, but placed blame where it belonged on the politicians. Originally he supported the Vietnam effort but quickly saw the mistake it was.
Thats so cool ! Guitar Hero did a great service in opening alot of kids to music they never paid attention too. Now my daughter had a crush on Jim Morrison when she was about 13. Not my doin she discovered the Doors on her own I just assisted after the fact.lol
If only he were alive today. As is, he gave more joy than anyone in my memory. He would have some interesting stuff to say on what Black music has become.
