Yes, I know, there have been plenty of tributes to the Hitch.  Considering the impact that he had on the world and on atheism, one more can't hurt.Besides ... things like this keep Hitchens alive for…Continue

Ah, nice. That was what came to mind when I read it, but I didn't think it could be him.

Who's Blair?

Does everyone know that there is going to be an awesome debate in Toronto on Nov 26? Hitchens vs Blair. Unfortunately, tickets were sold out before they were offered to the public!

A lot are angry over this including me!

Sign the petition to try and get it into a larger venue so we all can get to see him (Hitchens) in person.

To Christopher. You my friend and my sweet idol of your voice and books will survive for a while, cancer treatment is dismal and I have experienced secondarily as a nurse for 30 years as well as have lost loved ones in the same state. So many times I' ve leaned on you're words and comforting explanations in god is not great to help me take the weight off of my shoulders with orthodox catholicism. I thank you from the bottom of my cardiac area and as an ICU nurse for 35 years I have never seen or heard a person babble on at their time of death; never and I've seen hundreds die in my care who had no belief in an afterlife. Many of them had brain mets and were on high doses of MSO4... but no death bed conversions, never. They just went... I pulled their tubes and closed their eyes and said goodbye. Bacck in the 80' and 90's I still believed and prayed but always felt a sincere emptiness for them and myself. I wish you good luck and hope you are getting the best tx possible. If you are not please contact me as I'm in Boston and have the very best access to cancer tx. With love and gratitude, all the best Joe McCarthy. 617 697 6484

CNN's Anderson Cooper had an interview with Christopher tonight. I will miss him. Here's a link. http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2010/08/05/hitchens-on-cancer-diagnosis-...

It angers me that Christians assume atheists will turn to god before they die. What would be the point?

I only recently learned of Hitchens' illness. Rather interesting comments from around the world. That we could all be a bit like him; seems he's a bit like all of us, possibly (mortal). Hard to imagine this world without him. Hope it's a good while before we have to face that reality. My thoughts are with those lucky enough to KNOW that they truly love him. Any comments or information that I can't find?

Hi all! I had a shirt made that says "Christopher Hitchens is god" I think its hillarious! Gets a lot of people to ask me about it tho.

Missed him in my town where he debated with D'Souza at Notre Dame. So it on Youtube though and it was very good.

This evangelical tries to make the same tired old analogy:

"I can't help but see the irony. It appears some New Atheists are incorporating the very traits they've often condemned about evangelicals -- intolerance, dogmatism, and now even the church's penchant for schism. It seems anything can be turned into a religion, even anti-religion."

Atheism CANNOT be equivocated to a religion, you blithering idiot.
It is contempt for blind faith in supernatural forces and all things teleological. It embodies contempt for all things 'religious'.
Go Hitchens.
