As we exit Earth for Eaarth, where thousand mile wide storms, widespread drought, wildfire and megafloods are the new norm, the future of Humanism dims. Unless we organize globally for a universal sustainablilty effort based on cooperation, which seems less and less likely, we'll default to hierarchical authoritarian solutions. Without a push for sustainability grounded in global justice, strong arm measures without empathy will make life cheap as climate crises multiply.
We'll quickly lose every humanist advance painfully built since the Renaissance.
In short, we embrace well thought out Partnership solutions or suffer Dominator band-aids while Dominator culture business as usual fuels ever worsening destabilization.
I've been called a pessimist. What's your take on the relationship of Humanism to the unfolding Climate Crisis?
