@Jennifer, I would try to not to tell them they are 'stupid' because atheists can say stupid things too.

It depends on whether they have the power to fire me or not. Haha.

Hello. I'm Jennifer. I live in Bangalore and seem to be the only atheist around. Obviously, I am not. It's nice to see other people with my views. I recently started work and unfortunately have to deal with religious morons of the highest level. I'm totally for believing in whatever imaginary friends you want to believe in. But sometimes the things they say make me want to claw my ears off.
How do you guys deal with the stupid things that people say? Do you ignore it? Offer your opinion? Or do they more fun thing-tell them they are inexorably stupid-and watch them fume.

Dont get me started on Dasavatharam. What a horrible movie, and i was appalled at how Kamal hasan ,an avowed atheist could star in such a fatalist and theistic imbibed movie...
i expected a balanced view on the vaishnavite-Shaivite schism in south india ,but i only got this drivel

Dasavatharam. The Tamil version. I did watch Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par a couple of months ago and really liked it.

what was the movie?

Just watched an Indian movie today and was reminded of how silly some of the everyday superstitions of people are. It's just a different flavor of superstition from what's found here in the West, but it's weird when you've been away for a while.

Hi I'm a third generation Canadian with family origins in India and am interested in Indian history (ancient and modern). I've recently discovered some information related to the Carvakan Philosophy and hope that people on this site can enlighten me further. As far as I can tell this is the first known atheistic and secular humanist philosophy.
