I was never a proper Hindu, I was born in a Brahmo family ( Raja Rammohan Roy). So started off with disbelief in preordained fate, reincarnation, caste-system etc. But grew up to question the very idea of 'theism' 'spiritualism', found no need to pray-to any 'god'- saw demolition of Babri musjid, riots in Gujrat etc. Joined the Indian Rationalists led by Prabir Ghosh .... and so on ... editing Bengali magazine caled 'JUKTIBADI" meaning 'The Rationalist'

Hello everyone!

I come from a conservative Hindu family, but grew up in the West. Sometimes I wonder if there is anything fundamental to all Hindus! It seems to be every sect believes and prays to something different! I would like find out what you used to believe as a Hindu. Did you believe in reincarnation? What else?

Hello to all the new members! Abhiroop, Satish, Hann Chiu and LittlePants.
Hann Chiu, it depends on what kind of hardcore you're talking about. Hardcore punk never really caught on in India, but there are tons of hardcore metal bands and even some heavy sounding rap musicians. I've seen some really good bands in Bangalore and Chennai. Search for "Indian metal" on youtube. This slideshow has some new and some older Indian bands featured. The song is by Sceptre from Mumbai.
@LittlePants: Of course you are welcome here.

What did people think of Slumdog Millionare?

And if anyone knows, is there any good Indian Hardcore Bands? Preferable Straight Edge. I've been scouring the tubez for a while, and the closest I came to was Pop Punk stuff.
