I am in Leavenworth, but we were planning on going to the Kansas Sampler at the VA this weekend.

I hope all Kansas Atheists will try to show up at the Reason Fest this weekend or Rapture Day in Wichita on May 21.  We want to get on the radar screen.  Iowa just hosted the largest national American Atheist convention two weeks ago. We can be in there with them with these kinds of events.

A Kansas Atheists group!!?! Oh, the conservatives aren't going to be happy about this! :P Yeah, I love me some sarcasm. Great to find you all. Are there many of us in the Overland Park area?

Anyone near Ottawa? I was throwing around the idea of starting an atheist group for those who are close, but not close enough to KC.

Hugh is one of the best journalists for secularism.  I have met him twice while speaking in the Los Angeles area over the last two years. He published well written and thoughtful articles each time.

Cold and rainy here in SE Ks. Thought I would share some reading material to stay indoors with.  The sun is shining now. Damn, is this a miracle? Must be, how else could this have happened. Okay, okay. I have amused myself enough for now. I'll stop. :)

I guess I'll add my "welcome" too even though I think i have made only one post since I joined months ago.  I do a lot of lurking and have decided to join in.  I'm in Manhattan, but soon to be all over as we live in our RV and will be leaving here March 25th.  BUT, we still consider ourselves Kansans.  We will be back from time to time as all our kids live here.

I've not felt alone here, as I do have a few friends that think the way I do, but i am a member of some other online communities where I have not come out yet.  I did let it be known of facebook what I believe and post things anti religious from time to time....mostly because I get sick of all the bible quotes and god bless you's.

Anyway, I rambled long enough.  It's nice to know that not ALL of Kansas is crazy.
