As someone who was never smoked weed in my life, I say I'm in favor of legalizng marijuana. It will have way more benefits than it will repercussions.
Benefits: Healthcare costs will drop because there will be no need for expensive prescriptions; cannabidiol, a chemical in marijuana, has been shown to reduce cancer cell growth; number of small businesses wll SKYROCKET; Mexican drug cartels will lose money b/c weed is a huge portion of their market; etc.

Repercussions: pharmaceutical companies would go under...... I guess this should be a benefit; pharmaceutical companies will have less influence on politics b/c they'll be broke..... oops another one; there may be a rise in marijuana DUI's...... then again alcohol is legal and the alcohol DUI rate isn't staggering

And there you have it.

Mexican President Felipe Calderón has publicly said he is willing to listen to arguments in favor of the legalization of drugs in an effort to end the drug war that has killed 28,000 people since 2006.

"Bad on bad" in UK:
Children are being trafficked into the UK to work in so-called 'cannabis factories' according to police.

So it was my birthday yesterday and I was inviting my friends to come and chill at my house...they made excuses why they couldn't come over and I'm thinking it was b/c I said I might inconspicuously smoke either before they arrived or off in some other room. This annoys me b/c I've seen these particular friends vomit uncontrollably, lose all control of brain-to-mouth filter and throw themselves at their roommates, and pass out drunk on the floor from alcohol and they can't be around me even though marijuana makes me do none of these things.

It's the MDMA from dutchland that does enough damage in the U.S. coming through Canada, imhopinion. Other synthetic pills, totally killing folks here and abroad I'm sure. And the old booze are still a player in the game of life that is lost to soon; wrong medication for depression or anger.

I smoke weed sometimes and it's easy to get it. I just go to a coffee shop!! I'm from the Netherlands and it sort of legalized. Study shows (in the Netherlands) that the legalization of cannabis reduces the amount of hard drugs users and has a good prevent rate of getting addicted to hard drugs.

Another side of legalizing cannabis is that people get addicted to cannabis. In the Netherlands the marijuana is made 6 times stronger compared to the marijuana in the 60's (when cannabis was legalized). In Netherlands about 10- to 15 % of the cannabis user falls in the terms of addiction.

But legalize and enjoy!! I hope other countries will follow the legalization of cannabis so not all the tourist in Amsterdam only comes to smoke weed or hash!! ;) (joke)
