AAI was created to help people create and run local atheist groups/organizations. It is a great starting point for anyone.

Doesn't AAI require that your group be a 501c3 ?
They don't have to be, but it's always good to be one to give members tax-deduction on donations and non-monetary donations.
That link is no longer valid. (they've changed their website a lot since my last visit.)
What kinds of things can they do to help get groups started?
