I'd like to add Louisiana atheist/secular group links to our NOSHA blog.

Please send me the web address and I'll put it on our state list.

Thanks very much!

I'm from Morgan City but currently staying in Lafayette. No one has really ever given me much trouble surprisingly.

Hello! Timterriffic!
I moved to Alexandria several months after Katrina devestated my home in New Orleans. I found new doctors locally and one wa located at the catholic hosp. I was in the waiting room when a preist came on the intercom with a daily prayer, needless to say I found another doctor. Abother time I took my car to a local business and did not notice that there were Christian posters all over the wall, the only decor, and the only reading materails were five hard cover bibles. I almost tossed my coookies when I heard Pat Robinson on the TV. I've also noticed that a lot of businesses here advertise as "Christian Businesses" and to me this mean they dont want the business of anyone but Christians. Unfortunately I bought a cottage here before realizing there is nothing to do locally, except for the churches on about every two blocks, if not every block. I have my place back on the market and when it sells, I am moving out of Louisiana because the only decent place to live in La. is New Orleans.....PLEASE LET IT SELL SOON!

I asked some women at a shop what they did for fun and they just shrugged! I am almost NUTS! I've discovered that you do not openly admit that you don't have a church or they start all sorts of scandals about you. I think this place should be re-named HELL,USA, God bless every one of those hunting, fishing, halleluya, rednecks.

Christopher: New Orleans is a liberal city?...lol. Well I wouldn't go that far, but it is nice to know that we do have an organization here of fellow non-theists called NOSHA (New Orleans Secular Humanists Assosciation). New Orleans is a heavy-Catholic city (along with Baptists), and its nice to know that there are others here like me who dont believe in religious myths and superstitions.

Hello everyone, I just joined the site and the group. I've lived in Shreveport for 5 years and it has been good for me. I hoping to meet more like minded people.
