Well, it is central if you don't count the Eastern Shore. I have never had any luck with secularism on the Eastern Shore. Do you know of anyone who is interested in the area or the counties above Baltimore Co.?

"Gibson Island Park" is actually Downs Park which is on the bay, but much nicer (and more private) than Sandy Point. I'm not sure I agree that Frederick is central...?

Well, I'm thinking, now, a nice central location like Frederick, Md. The beach idea would work if their was some decent open beaches, but so far I haven't found any yet. They are seem to be private.

I wouldn't swim in the severn or the magothy rivers either - I grew up here and I remember the slime. Anyway, a few other choices are "Gibson Island Park" and "Thomas Point Park" - each on different parts of the bay - most of the rivers are private marinas, real estate, and community beaches - but I'll ask around...

Well, I've tried that spot. The water in the bay in that area isn't always clean. They do have showers though. Taking a shower after swimming should be a must. Of course, swimming isn't necessary anyway.
Because it is open to the public, ethnic demographics can be overwhelming to a small group that doesn't fit the demographics.
Anyway, I'll consider it.
I was hoping that there was a spot on or near the Severn River.
Thanks for your input.

Sandy Point State Park is right by the Bay Bridge; picnic tables, pavilions, playgrounds, beach, and other facilities.

Brian,
Severn probably has some good beach front areas. Are any good for a decent exclusive beach party?

I'm in the process of planning our annual Atheist cookout for the spring. Looking for suggestions. Had at Carol's ast year, and then at Lake Needwood for two years before that. Might want to try it in the beautiful hill country of western Maryland.

It just occurred to me that most here are not seniors. OK. Softball at noon on Sat. and Sun. for everyone.
