Motivated reasoning: climate denialism hooks into what many of us would like to believe, that we can keep on feasting on an "energy banquet" forever, with continued growth, and so on, and so forth.

I laughed at that generic caption with "NAME HERE" on the air, but feel sorry for the tech who accidentally put it on the live program!
