Hi Fellow Missourians...... I just joined the group today and wanted to say hello to all, and also mention that I'm glad I'm not alone here in St Louis! :)
Looking forward to chatting with and getting to know you all.

For those who don't have any freethinking groups in your area - check out and see if there are any atheist and agnostics groups. We use meetups all the time here in KC and our groups are anywhere from 5-20 people depending on the topic - movie, chat at coffee house, movie night or if it's by a larger group like Community of Reason or Heartland Humanists it can be 30-50 people easy. Also check - and search for a group in your area by keywords "your city/state atheist/agnostic" also go to and do same search there too. Visit with a Unitarian Universalist church in your area - there are mostly freethinkers. Also check for "conscious evolution, spiritualists, wiccans, pagans, goddesses, etc" on Meetup and groups, subscribe and visit these groups regularly to get to know people, have something in print to give them with yuour infaromation, make a schedule (once or twice a month - you can be all by yourself in a coffee house :o) - put up a sign there "Atheist Meetup" and you'll be suprised poeple will notice and will strike conversations with you. You can this way recruit poeple "away" from spiritualist and also "paranormal" groups. There are a few around always. Many of these people are not religous.

You know, I wish there were a Freethinkers group here in Springfield. As far as I know there is not and I'm starting to wish KC and StL weren't so far away.

Oh man.
I wish I lived in KC.
I'd so be there.
Does anyone know of a COMO atheist/skeptic/free thinker group?

The stuff that goes on at the Tammeus forum is the spamming, quote mining, and shit droppings that Iggy/KcFreethinker leaves there.

Every argument he has made has been refuted by Just Thinking, but he seems to think that by ignoring the answers it makes him look smart. It makes him look like a coward is what it makes him look like.

And he obviously doesn't know anything about mainstream science that he couldn't get out of an encyclopedia.

Just in this morning... This is the kind of stuff that goes on on the blog of the Kansas City religous writer Bill Tammeus - If you feel like repsonding, sign up (takes 1 min) and respond.

God is punishing the U.S. with all the hurricanes, tornados, floods and fires because the U.S. launched an unjust war against Iraq and will not repent. This is how God treats those He onced loved who will not repent:
Proverbs 29
A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes
will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.
God brings disasters upon unrepentant nations and people until their stiff knecks are broken, without remedy. He denies them favor, destroys their commerce, and brings plague after plague upon them if they will not repent of their evil toward others. If this nation will not repent of its sin against Iraq and her people, then God is going to bring more and more destruction.
