From the first time I heard "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," I fell in love with the sweet harmonies and rich, warming music made by Crosby, Stills and Nash.  Since that time, they celebrated the Summer of…Continue

Here's an interesting video.  Parts of West Side Story from the perspective of one of the percussionists.  Quite a busy guy!  Also goes to show how intricately Leonard Bernstein scored his compositions.

Nice playing, Loren.  Great musicianship!

I've talked about these guys before.  The original group Oregon formed in 1970, in the wake of the first Paul Winter Consort, and from there began to produce some of the most amazing music my ears have ever heard ... including the following.

Please enjoy!

TV programs such as "The Old Grey Whistle Test," low and  behold commissioned by David Attenborough, or Don Kirshners TV show changed music - maybe for the good maybe for the bad.

Music lost a lot of diversity as the industry conglomerated. It seemed to  become homogonistic.

Here's one for example - that fits the mold, and sounds like everything else of that genre.

Tom Petty's music seemed different for some reason, though he as every musician has to fit into a mold.

I watched Tom Petty in an interview saying how much he hated the videos that acommanied his music. He said  his song "Don't Come Around Here Nore More"  will always be associated with the Alice in wonderland video.

Did video destroy the heart of music?

I agree, Spud. I think I'm too old to get music vids. They seem pretty pointless to me.

Bertold, I like that music, but not the video.

A tip of the hat and so long to Tom Petty. One of the best love songs ever here.
