Patricia - I'm reposting because the first try was a crap live recording; the audio on this one is much better.

Loren, I have a couple of Urbie's records. Always liked him. Thanks for sharing.

Cool tunes Loren,

My Uncle, the professional jazz musician told be a joke. I don't remember exactly how it went neither did he- It was something such as a guy walking down a street saw a car with an accordion in the front seat. The guy walking down the street broke the window of the car and threw another accordion in.

That was in reference to us talking about how much we don't like 'umpa' music - if 'umpa and music' can even be tied together.

Cool tunes Loren,

I've previously posted cuts which either came from or were inspired by an album published in 1967: 21 Trombones.  The rich, nuanced sound of 20 slide-tuned instruments in ensemble, plus doyen bone-man Urbie Green taking the solos was and is something I find singular and amazing, and 50 years later, I still haven't tired of.

Here's what started it all: "Here's That Rainy Day."

My 3 CD set of "The Best of Dave Brubeck" arrived two days ago, and I'm loving it. His quartet (featuring Paul Desmond) was the greatest. I grew up listening to Dave and company. Innovative, swinging, melodic--he (they) could do it all.
