Check out What the Fresh Hell is This? by Star LaBranche, my friend and assistant organizer of our local Skeptics meetup group.  This book chronicles her religious upbringing, her gradual shift away from the Catholic church, her coming to terms with her atheism, and her survival as a non-believer in the Bible Belt.

The esteemed Australian philosopher, writer, and critic (and prominent atheist), Russell Blackford, has just posted a wonderful review of my latest novel, POLLY AND THE ONE AND ONLY WORLD, a fantasy for all ages, which features an atheist witch as its heroine and Christian fundamentalists as its villains.

Randall put me on the track of The World without Us, by Alan Weisman. Slow reading for me, because I can't stop looking up things and that opens a wealth of info too. Fascinating book, but also very saddning; we've made such a mess of a wonderful planet!

A really stunning book: "A Delicate Truth" by John Le Carre. In the 'global war on terror', British intelligence and special forces end up being the underlings of American private defence contractors, all thanks to the Neocon policies of New Labour. Le Carre's best book in years: no punches pulled, no holds barred, no prisoners taken. Read it in an afternoon/evening yesterday.

Hello everyone! I joined Atheist Nexus last week :-)

I also recently published a book entitled There's a Hula Girl on my Dashboard: How I Left Faith Behind and Em.... If you'd like to know more, I was interviewed on The Godless Spellchecker podcast and rambled about it a bit.

So, uh, there you have it!

I'll refer Book Club readers to the Food group for a quick review of Wheat Belly Total Health.

I don't know if this is appropriate or not, but I'm trying to find some readers/reviews for my book The Atheist's Messiah - about how religions get started with a twist. Happy to send out a free copy to anyone interested - just send me a message.

I doubt if my library has it, but I'll check. Sounds interesting.

Finished. It doesn't really matter if there's a Kim Yong Un at the top, or an invisible friend, the pattern of the monoculture is the same - chilling. A real must-read.

Without You, there is no Us - Suki Kim, non-fiction 2014

American South Korean author teaches English for some semesters in North Korea. She describes her own culture shock, the narrow minded monoculture she now lives in, her pupils'  guilelessness and their extreme sensitivity to political/cultural correctness.

Haven't finished yet, but a very good read!
