For those superstitious souls who want to blame the USA's east coast earthquake on something supernatural, I offer this:

 

It was centered in Virginia, halfway between the state's capitol (Richmond) and the current national capitol (D.C.), extending all the way to the original capitol of our nation (NYC).  That can mean only one thing:  Thomas Jefferson is turning over in his Monticello grave, in reaction to the destruction the wall between church and state.
