I think unfertilized eggs and loose sperm are viewed differently. I better question is to ask them whether they search through the tiolet droppings each day in search of "naturally" aborted fertilized eggs. As many as half of these fertilizations are aborted and the woman and her partner are none the wiser. They are either not viable (usually because of chromosome replication problems) or they fail to attach to the uterine wall for some reason. This makes "god" responsible for millions of abortions a day. How is it that Catholics and Evangelicals do not have a pray-in as an attempt to persuade their divine skygod to cease this immoral practice? Why don't priests perform baptismal rites on tiolet bowls?

The con argument against stem cell research falls flat when you question them on whether or not they hold mini-funeral services every month for those unfortunate eggs that had not been fertilized or the millions of sperm cells discarded with normal ejaculate. Do they bury their tampons in the back yard under a little cross every month.
Yes, that is ridiculous. As ridiculous as their objections to stem cell research.

In Brazil, weeks ago, a priest damned doctors who did a surgery in a 11 years old children to abort her baby 'cause she was raped.. to him, it doesn't matter if the children dies, and he says that it's what god wants.. and some people still believe in the church..

Good summary of the differences between Fundie "evilution" and the scientific stuff. It seems that is was pearls cast before swine, as some Jewish chap said some time ago.

I like it Alex! I sent your comment to some fellow atheist friends for their enjoyment. Don't worry I gave you credit! :)

"I strongly support expanding research on stem cells," he said on the campaign trail.

"I believe that the restrictions that President Bush has placed on funding of human embryonic stem cell research have handcuffed our scientists and hindered our ability to compete with other nations."

WASPs all over America are now dropping to their knees and praying. Hopefully, those prayers will be answered the same as all other prayers are.
