So I work for a company where many of the staff and the owner are very religious. Up until around a year ago my wife and I kept our atheism to ourselves, not because we were embarrassed, but more as to not upset our christian friends. Then we decided, so what and we are now open and out. And it feels good. We attended the company christmas dinner on Friday and the owner asked everyone to bow their heads and say grace. Last year we would have but this time we were true to ourselves and we didn't.
It feels good to be able to be ourselves, and our friends it turns out, have no problem with our position. Also it has encouraged our children to be open and forthright in there atheism.
Just thought I'd share.
