Come OUT

Atheists have always been at the forefront of rational thinking and beacons of enlightenment, and now you can share your idealism by being part of the OUT Campaign.

Atheists are far more numerous than most people realize. COME OUT of the closet! You'll feel liberated, and your example will encourage others to COME OUT too. (Don't "out" anybody else, wait for them to OUT themselves when they are ready to do so).

The OUT Campaign allows individuals to let others know they are not alone. It can also be a nice way of opening a conversation and help to demolish the negative stereotypes of atheists. Let the world know that we are not about to go away and that we are not going to allow those that would condemn us to push us into the shadows.

As more and more people join the OUT Campaign, fewer and fewer people will feel intimidated by religion. We can help others understand that atheists come in all shapes, sizes, colours and personalities. We are labourers and professionals. We are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers and grandparents. We are human (we are primates) and we are good friends and good citizens. We are good people who have no need to cling to the supernatural.

It is time to let our voices be heard regarding the intrusion of religion in our schools and politics. Atheists along with millions of others are tired of being bullied by those who would force their own religious agenda down the throats of our children and our respective governments. We need to KEEP OUT the supernatural from our moral principles and public policies.

It is time to step up and...

We have many exciting activities and plans for the OUT Campaign, so be sure to watch for the latest developments!

By all means Rita, retweet the research paper. I see now looking at the posts that I posted the same information twice. Sorry everybody. it was unintentional.

Where would a curious Tweeter find these twibbons?

I have a twibbon on my twitter page of an A. It is part of the Out Campaign. It makes it easier to connect with other Atheists. A pastor is following me - I think he is trying to convert me.

Hey folks I have a request, my family and I often use our facebook accounts to debate back and forth about all thing religion. My brother who is an Assembly of God youth pastor and in a study at home bible course for theology and apologetics just posted a most bizarre note "LEWIS IS NOT GAY!!! The death of naturalism pt1"

I could take it apart myself but I thought it would be nice to get some other people in the mix with addition viewpoints and ideas. My boyfriend and I are the only ones in our little circle who represent our atheistic viewpoint. Everyone else in the mix are Christians or atheists who are not out yet so they don't participate.

So if you like to debate, have a facebook account and would like to come and help us defend this crazy post, friend me and let's have some fun.

I will say first though that although my family and friends are delusional Dawkins style, they are genuinely kind people and love me greatly. If you read something they've written and think it sounds rude, rest assure they are just being defensive and don't mean to be rude. I will also say that because I am often very direct, they accuse me of being an angry atheist, so be as sweet as you can but don't cut them any slack. Also please, no curse words, they'll just consider that rude.

Thanks to anyone who would like to join in, Lewis

I just received my Scarlet Letter tee shirt and proudly wear it on the weekends. I have received mixed comments on it: is that for Athletic, is that for Adultry, does it mean you are an a** hole? Each time when I explain, the look on their faces if worth the price of the shirt:)
