Welcome to Parenting Little Heathens

Hi moms and dads. Welcome to the parenting without religion group here at A|N. Please feel free to post an introduction, tell us about yourself or if you'd rather not, just jump right into any discussion.

Before you get started I would like you to be familiar with our Posting Rules and Guidelines. This will help clarify what this group is and what topics are appropriate or inappropriate.

Also, you might be interested in our list of atheist related parenting resources list. This is a work in progress, if you've found something you think is a good fit please post a reply and I'll see about adding it.

If at any time you would like to contact me, the easiest way is to send a private message through my page. However, in order to send any member a PM you must first be their friend.

Thank you for joining the group, I hope you enjoy being here.

Hello, I'm an American, but I'm living in Cyprus. I rarely find other non-theists here in Cyprus, so it's a bit lonely here in that regard! Also, there is the occasional disagreement with my Greek Orthodox in-laws over how to raise our child, and I've been looking for a support community to help me out. So it's great to have found this site and this group. :)

Thanks Dawn, I'm on the mailing list and thought I would pass on the sale. We paid full price last year and still love it. Seems like she is growing the business through Amazon this year.

It's okay Michelle. :) We've talked about Charlie's playhouse once or twice here but I'm sure there are still people that haven't heard about them. They do have really nice products.

About my last comment, I do not have any financial interest in the company, it is just me sharing.

We got a giant time line and creature cards for our son last Christmas and he loves them as much as I do. We did not get to learn as much about dinosaurs when I was kid because evolution was evil. If anyone is interested they will be 20% off beginning in September.

I'm working on a resource you all might be interested in - songs for kids age 8-12 inspired by the work of various scientists here in Oklahoma. Please check out this TV news story about it! If you'd like to support the CD you can pre order it here. The deadline is August 21 (next Saturday).

Citizen Roe: The parenting / education content available on and linked from is great. I've read most of the essays, hit up several of the links, and I have purchased a few of the books recommended on the site. Great stuff, all around.
