This article was updated Oct. 11, 2016. I find a recent article dated June 26, 2018, of a derailment of 32 car in NW Iowa, with a spill of 230,000 gallons of crude oil into the floodwaters of the Little Rock River.
On Oct. 7, 2016, Shell Puget Sound Refinery announced plans to drop construction of a crude-by-rail facility in Anacortes.
In June 2016, there was a derailment in Columbia River Gorge with eight cars involved in a fire. Portions of I-84 were shut down; a school was evacuated.
There are 66 incidents involving problems with shipments of explosive crude oil. The map shows many of their locations.
I wonder how the truck industry is doing with their shipments of crude oil? Or the pipeline? I'll have to pay attention to these alternative presses.
