Food for discussion
Asking is "Trump dismantling the robust system that has kept America united" frames our current political situation far too narrowly. The changes are systemic - corporate control of politics and endemic system-wide corruption. Trump's just the celebrity face, a symbol of racism and white Christian male dominance. Pence would work even better, as would a thousand others.
Do we react emotionally to Trump?
If so, he’s giving us an education no previous president has given us.
I hope we derive benefits from his efforts.
We might value democracy more.
