Politics, Economics, and Religion

Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

What is the purpose of life?

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

I'm not sure about divisions, but those zygotes have Panzers up the yingyang.

Telling German jokes, Bert, may lead to another invasion of Europe's non-Aryan nations.

How many divisions do toddlers or zygotes in petri dishes have?

Comment by Bertold Brautigan on October 11, 2017 at 6:55pm

What would those same jurisprudence experts do if driving down the street they found it inevitable that they would either run over a toddler or a zygote in a petri dish?

In a classroom, comparing the life of a zygote, etc with that of a living, etc person might earn a student a passing grade.

In a courtroom, attorneys will argue whether a zygote and a person are entitled to the equal protections of law.

Grinning Cat, you put into words what I tried to say, and the words just would not form. Your choice of words tell exactly what I wanted to convey.

"The "pro-life" anti-abortion / pro-forced-birth advocates offer an unspoken false equivalence, that needs to be spoken and refuted whenever it appears. The life of a zygote / embryo / fetus is not the same as that of a living, breathing, sentient, self-aware person who has a quality of life and wants to continue living."

Thanks, Joan, for the information on legalized abortion being linked to drops in crime 18 years later, including murders. All the more support for not requiring people to carry unwanted pregnancies!

"We offer evidence that legalized abortion has contributed significantly to recent crime reductions. Crime began to fall roughly 18 years after abortion legalization. The 5 states that allowed abortion in 1970 experienced declines earlier than the rest of the nation, which legalized in 1973 with Roe v. Wade. States with high abortion rates in the 1970s and 1980s experienced greater crime reductions in the 1990s. In high abortion states, only arrests of those born after abortion legalization fall relative to low abortion states. Legalized abortion appears to account for as much as 50 percent of the recent drop in crime."

Don't Feed The Church
     Nemesis

Release the chain that holds you in trance
Religion destroys your mind and your sense
Believe in yourself no sins to regret
The preahers is only to steal and opress

How dare you to sell the salvation?
Cheating the poors and building empires
How long you will live in alienation
Giving your money to pervert desires!

Open your eyes you will see the truth
The bible is a lie! Don't feed the church!
Sacred war to fill the purse
Set free your mind! Don't feed the church!
Don't feed the church!

You have the power to rule you own life
Live it for honor for love and kind
Forget the sin the pain and hate
Spit on the face of racist fate

How dare you to sell the salvation?
Cheating the poors and building empires
How long you will live in alienation
Giving your money to pervert desires!

Open your eyes you will see the truth
The bible is a lie! Don't feed the church!
Sacred war to fill the purse
Set free your mind! Don't feed the church!
Don't feed the church!

Another irregularly scheduled political cartoon:

Spokesman in suit and tie: “At the NRA we take mass shootings seriously. And we want to HONOR our first responders... the congresspeople who block gun laws. That’s why we built the PAC-15 assault donator! This puppy will fire 90 bands of $100 bills per minute--fully automatic campaign contributions.” (Automatic rifle with rectangular bore firing bundles of money) “We can lay down a field of bribes from up to 500 yards away and hit every one of our legislators--all of which were purchased legally, by the way.” (Happy legislators being hit by bundles of money; one man in foreground catches one between his teeth, with caption “HEAD SHOT!”) “As for bump stocks, we’re trying our best.” (Smiling spokesman bumps the falling arrow on a stock-price chart with his elbow, making it bend upwards.)(click to enlarge)
