Politics, Economics, and Religion

Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

What is the purpose of life?

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

Is it a tradition that every U.S. president since Reagan to sign a proclamation honoring MLK Day?

I am having difficulty finding info on this.

Why hasn't Twitter banned or suspend Donald Trump from it's site?

We know his harmful, hurtful, hateful race inciting language and yet these social medias have not suspend him.....why?

Not that I disagree with you, but someone could refute your argument by mentioning Ronald Reagan.....and I heard he had a soothsayer in his Oval Office...was that true?

Pardon me, but I while I "get" the interest in Oprah running for the presidency, there is no way in hell I approve of it.  She is no more experienced in governance than Trump is.  Further, all her candidacy would do is validate the concept of celebrities running for office and further advance the idea of a presidential run as a popularity contest.  Making this country work is serious business, and it is long past time the voters recognized this.

Sixty-some-odd million voters weren't so serious last time around, and look what we got for it.

Ruth, I agree with the assessment about Oprah;  I haven't watched her for years for that reason.

"for three decades she has had a major role in encouraging Americans to abandon reason and science in favor of the wishful and imaginary."

Oprah Winfrey Helped Create Our American Fantasyland

Years ago I watch Oprah (my sister loves watching her....) and  I felt  Oprah was selling Saks Fifth Avenue version of pseudo-psychology....and I enjoyed reading Kurt Andersen article...thanks!

Ruth Kurt Andersen is one of my heroes. I think that Slate article is excerpted from his fabulous book Fantasyland - How America Went Haywire. That book should be required reading for every high school senior.

I'm confused....

Today, Prez Trump signed a proclamation honoring Martin Luther King Day, gave a short speech (vomit) , then came Ben Carson speech (ass kissing vomit), and some other preacher speech (couldn't watch it)

Didn't Congress approved the MLK Day bill signed into federal holiday by Ronald Reagan in 1983 to which came into effect in Jan. 20, 1986?

Or was this another ass wipe face saving Trump tactic for endorsing his concept of "shithole" African countries?
