Politics, Economics, and Religion

Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

What is the purpose of life?

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

Joan, That is, of course, why the US cannot do anything about Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory. The placement of US armed forces in other countries amounts to US occupation. They are placed there to insure the country obeys the rules imposed by the US. That is the same reason Israeli troops are in Gaza.

The U.S. has no business having armies stationed all over the world. We need to trade with people, not exploit them but to find common interests.

"The Donald Trump administration is planning to install a 30,000 strong armed “security force” in northern Syria along the borders with Turkey and Iraq." Why? What is the point?

"The United States presence in Syria is completely illegal both under international law and under the U.S. government’s War Powers Act. Syria is a sovereign state with a recognized government and there is no U.N. or Congressional mandate that permits Washington to station its soldiers, Marines, and airmen within the country’s borders."

I'm too disgusted with republicans AND democrats that I have started to tune out the torrent of bad news coming from Washington. I'm voting Green Party, but still will not be happy until we implement the RBE.

Trump Administration Creates New Religious Freedom Gestapo.

RFRA Religious Freedom Restoration Act

has been around since 1993 - the  Bill Clinton administration.

GWB used it in his Faith Based policies. Obama continued  it.

Previous administrations coddled  and nursed RFRA.

Don't blame it on Trump.

The U.S. accepted Laotians who didn't have a  written language into the U.S. because they helped during the Vietnam war. There was a lot of resistance about that.

Afghanis and Iraquis who were interperters during the recent stupid wars should be given visas as they were promised.

The most appropriate answer in the "What is God" from the

Oprah's favorite Question - How do you define God?

is from Caroline Myss (I have no idea who Caroline Myss is)

Caroline Myss says God bends the "laws for you" Does she mean she can do what ever she wants and still attain her fantacy of going to heaven?

Apparently Oprah's favorite question How do you define God was on a SuperSoul Sunday program she hosted.

Nice, GC.

I heard that Kelly gave thought to Trump’s tweeting and lying but decided that limiting either would endanger the President’s sanity.

President Donald J. Trump Official Government Shutdown Briefing as prepared by John Kelly / You are still expected to be in the Oval Office at 11am and put in a solid two hours of work. / The military will still be able to protect America from its enemies, including sharks. / Some cutbacks will be required. For example, tie length will be reduced to “normal.” / Your Diet Coke button will cease to function at midnight EST. Theoretically, you would still be able to get a Diet Coke via “standing” and “walking.” / National parks will close (“parks” are like golf courses where you don’t play golf). / To repeat: Sharks will NOT be able to hurt you during the shutdown. / Robert Mueller’s investigation will continue to operate and haunt your every waking moment. / [The Daily Show with Trevor Noah](via Twitter; click to embiggen)
