We owe a huge debt to Galileo for emancipating us all from the stupid belief in an Earth-centered or man-centered (let alone God-centered) system. He quite literally taught us our place and allowed us to go on to make extraordinary advances in knowledge.― Christopher HitchensI wholeheartedly agree, and I suspect that the church was upset with Galileo less for denying that Earth was the center of the universe than that man ... or certain men ... did not occupy that location.
Bertold, I like that quote. I have read many of Taibbi's works and have enjoyed all of them.

"That’s Donald Trump for you. Making America Great Again, one Wall Street millionaire at a time."
If God created us in his own image, we have more than reciprocated.― Voltaire
If it turns out that there is a God...the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever. ― Woody AllenNever mind an an absentee father and landlord, indifferent to suffering, fairness or justice, unresponsive to any form of communication ... and I could go on and on.
Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in bad company.
