Sex for fun and non-procreation!

In this world, we can't get away from religion. We've been exposed to false information regarding contraception failure rates and experienced the STD scare tactics. Some of us may even have gone through abstinence-only sex education!

Here in Secular Sexuality we will discuss:

-sexual health in light of peer-reviewed science
-safe for work guides on safe(r) sex (or links)
-questions that would shock the religious

That's a bad way to go about it, yeah.  Sit back, let the women run things, and enjoy the very high female:male ratio.

I found that a better approach, back when I hung out with some pagans, before the silliness of the whole thing finally got to me.  There wasn't much of an atheist community at the time, so at least you could be sure of avoiding Christians in that sort of group.

Ah, Wicca. The book was published before Wicca arose.

Who in a skyclad Wiccan gathering can host Victorian 'morality'?

Those I met were also environmentally aware. I loved the witches but one man seemed to want to take charge. I didn't see him again.

And just random, new-agey paganism.  It's funny how your religion isn't mired in tradition when you make it up as you go.

Most pagans I've known make vaguely similar claims about their religious beliefs, but most don't have anything as coherent as the claims of Wicca.  If you claim to be Asatru, but you don't know the first damned thing about Norse mythology, there's something wrong with your theology.

I guess the book left out more modern religions such as Wicca?  Created in modern times (despite claims to the contrary) it has much less Victorian attitudes toward sexuality AND much more Idealistic attitudes toward controlling the masses...

Yeah, and predictably "...local politicians demand the billboards’ removal."

Victorianism is still alive and functioning in the US of A.

While quitting religion decades ago, I read a book comparing the varied xian religions and another comparing the varied world religions. Only one, tantric Buddhism, saw sexuality as a positive spiritual experience.

In response to an abortion restriction bill, Kentucky representative Mary Lou Marzian has introduced a bill allowing Viagra and other erectile-dysfunction drugs to be prescribed only to married men, and only with the spouse's written permission. The man would also be required to visit the doctor twice, and "make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse."

Ms. Marzian told the New York Times: "I thought if we’re going to insert ourselves into women’s most private health care decisions, then we should insert ourselves into men’s most private health care decisions, as well."

Gynotician: A politician who feels more qualified than women and their doctors to make women's health care decisions.

Gynotician: A politician who feels an unmarried celibate mythological ascetic called Jesus, who's understood to have been born of a virgin, is qualified to lecture on birth control.
