I haven't read through all the comments. Do any of you attend the Houston Atheist/Freethinker groups or are most of you too far away? There are several, I think all of them have a presence on…Continue
I agree that it's sad, Cyn, but not too surprising. I remember a Pew poll a couple of years ago that said Americans rate Atheists below serial killers.I guess they're afraid of both. ;)
that is just too sad. would've hoped we'd all be bit more tolerant. guess not. :(
I've had my experiences with that in the past; when my kids were young. I told a neighbor, in confidence, that I was agnostic (actually sugar coating my atheism). Soon the whole neighborhood started treating my entire family differently. I'm a business owner now and most of my customers would have a problem with it too.
I work at a school, and if some parents knew my beliefs it would be a problem . I don't impose my beliefs but I no longer trust that it is totally safe to be out as an atheist .
okay. :) not sure what or who you are hiding from but whatever does it for ya.
A few of us here, mostly in hiding.
if so, its been a long while. might wanna just give it a few days see if anyone else responds. :)
Thanks, Cyn. It's good to know I'm not alone here in "gods country". Does anybody in the group get together for drinks, discussions or events?
i'd hope so. still get notifications of activity here such that it is. but yeah, not much going on around here. welcome anyway. ;)
These comments are really old. Are there any Atheists left in SE Texas?
