Sorry for the Cavs, Loren, but I'm happy to say the basketball season is finally and mercifully over. I barely watched the finale. Instead, I watched the NCAA track and field championship. That was much more entertaining.

I don't mean to keep complaining, but where else can I release my concerns, frustrations, even anger? That's really not why I started this group. But......

Being a notorious channel flipper, I started to watch a college women's softball game. That didn't last long. I though background noise in pro basketball games was bad. However, listening to the incessant shrill voices of college girls yelling encouragement (or whatever) to teammates is extremely irritable. I don't blame the ladies--I blame the ESPN sound techs. We don't need "mikes" in the dugouts. Again, I gotta mute the sound.

Didn't watch it, myself, Randall.  Apparently the Cavs can win at home.  The question becomes: can they pull one out in Boston?  Honestly, I'm not sanguine at all about the answer to that one.

With "nothing else" on TV, I semi-watched the Boston/Cleveland pro basketball game last night. (Although I don't know which is worse: watching the game or CNN/MSNBC on Trump, Trump, and more Trump.)

I've never seen so many "cry babies" in all my life (the game). All they do is complain about "bad calls".  I mean, grow up! Stop the belly-aching. I'm pretty much done with watching any more pro basketball. It's such a farce. (I've said before that I mute the sound throughout the game.)

I've never been a hockey fan. I've never even skated although Indiana's lakes and ponds do ice over.

However, I've gotten hooked on watching the hockey league playoffs, mostly because it's the only thing worth watching on TV. I still don't know what "icing" is, or why a team is "off sides", but I've been taken by the action of the sport--non-stop--and the amazing skill of the ice skating. Not only do the players skate like crazy, but they handle a stick-on-puck like magic. Plus, those guys are rough and tough, pounding one another against the side boards (or whatever they're called).

It's rock 'em, sock 'em mayhem from start to finish. I don't care who wins. It's just plain fun entertainment. I can see why the fans get so excited.

I don't mean to brag, but I've shot my age (75) twice already this year. True, par is 71, and I play off the senior tees, and I take "gimme's" of two footers, and I give myself two mulligans per round, but still.......

Upon returning from a week in the "wilderness" (Buffalo National River in Arkansas), I've caught up with all the sports news. Unfortunately, my teams (Cubs, Pacers, etc.) continue losing. Some things never change.

Spring has finally arrived in Indiana, so I can get some golf in.

I gotta say, one must have to be a real sports fan to sit for 3 hours in frigid weather watching a baseball game. Even when it's on TV! I'm thinking, "Are these people crazy or what?" while I'm sitting comfortably in my recliner watching the same game. And what do they pay to suffer like that?

Well, my Pacers lost to the Cavaliers last night (as expected). I sort of watched--book in hand, sound muted. I mute not only so I can concentrate on the book I'm reading, but to tune out the obnoxious arena music and chants ("Defense, defense, defense") and pounding drums, not to mention the incessant chatter by the announcers. Am I getting old or what?!

Pleased to have you on board, GC! Feel free to discuss whatever is on your mind (as you already did). Six lies a day, eh? That's all?

Like Bertold, I never thought I'd comment here. (One of many reasons why my "typical American guy" card was revoked long ago.) Years ago a friend took me to my first (and only so far) major league baseball game; being there in person and being able to watch the crowd was a lot more interesting than seeing a game on TV!

Anyway, from skimming "What Sport Causes the Most Farting?": golf... every man is entrusted to keep his own score, and will be socially shunned forever if he does it in a manner that is deemed unsatisfactory by his rich asshole peers. SO MUCH INTEGRITY.

Huge orange counterexample: The US Liar-in-Chief (averaging six lies a day), Popular Vote Loser, Deceitful Donald, Dolt 45*.

(Yes, cheap name-calling, but he deserves every bit of it.)
