Hurray for the Browns! Ditto for the Colts! I'm on the Luck bandwagon.

First the Buckeyes, now the Browns!  The first half saw some of the best football from Cleveland I've seen played in entirely too long.  Watching Mayfield execute drive after drive gives me hope for our poor, benighted sports town.  The second half wasn't so great, but the defense held on and we now have two wins in a row?!?  WHAAAA???

Now ... can we make it three in Houston?

Well ... would it be polite for me to gloat or what?  I mean, EVERYONE had the Buckeyes going down, right?  Even the Plain Dealer had them in the "L" column.  Shall we also mention that you have two 10-1 teams playing, one ranked 4th and the other ranked 10th?

Problem is, no one told Urban Meyer that!  Also ... NEVER underestimate OSU in the Horseshoe!

What? Nothing from Loren on Ohio State's thumping of Michigan?

Same ol', same ol', from my alma mater (IU). Close, but no cigar (loss to Purdue).

True, that game will be hard to top. I had a book in hand with the sound muted (can't hack "Booger"), so I really wasn't paying that much attention. Eventually, I realized what was happening. I rarely stay up late to finish a game, but I did this time.

Have to say it: the Chiefs - Rams game last night was INSANE, and the second half more than the first with over 50 points scored by both clubs. The Rams pulled it out in the end, but overall, recent memory records no game that was more exciting or entertaining.

Sure, refs make a lot of mistakes--poor or missed calls. But the players on both the Celtics and Raptors teams last night complained about almost EVERY call! I never saw so many whiners. Instant replay proved you fouled, buddy. I did see one guy admit that he fouled by raising his hand. Remember the good old days when a "violator" had to do that?

Congrats, Loren! I watched much of the OSU game, but the Browns weren't on TV. We had the Colts, who, by the way, won their third straight game! Even IU won--amazing. Michigan will kill them next game.  Then they (IU) have to beat Ohio St. killer Purdue to be eligible for a bowl game.

Well, shock and amazement!  Look what the Browns did.  They played 60 minutes of solid, mostly mistake-free ball.  Baker Mayfield ran a competent and occasionally creative offense while the defense did a better than average job of bottling up the Falcons' O.  And they WON!

Now the question becomes, can they make a habit of it?

Well, I'm pleased to report (as a Buckeye partisan!) that, after an iffy encounter with the Cornhuskers two weeks ago, that the Buckeyes faced a tough Michigan State Spartans team and held them to six points, while showing some special-teams prowess which you don't see every day.  I mean at least three punts put INSIDE THE FIVE YARD LINE?!?

That'll do, Urban ... that'll do!
