Will the Little League World Series never end? Viewership (ratings) must be high for ESPN to show so many games. I'm not watching.

The TV networks that carry the British Open are probably not too pleased that 3 of the biggest names in golf didn't make the cut. (Tiger, Phil, Rory)

Good one, Loren. That reminds me that while I enjoy a good boxing match, I loathe this kick boxing (UFC?) "sport" that seems to dominate ESPN. Talk about brutal and insane.

And, is it just me that dislikes Serena Williams? Her attitude and demeanor over the years has turned me off to her--I don't care how great people say she is. And why do almost all those women tennis players have to scream every time they hit the ball?

I don't know if anyone here follows the comic, "In The Bleachers," but it's been a part of the Cleveland Plain Dealer's sports section for as long as I can remember.  I thought today's offering was particularly worth a look ... and a laugh:

Well, for once I am ahead of the group. I find watching sports, all and any sports, from golf to car racing, intolerable, obnoxious, and loathsome.

Have to agree, Randall.  That "go in the hole!" business got old about 10 squares back.

Beware! Here comes another gripe. (The older I get , the less tolerant I become.)

Upon watching the U.S. Open on the telly, I've noticed some spectators have become quite vocally obnoxious. They yell something--usually, "GO IN THE HOLE!"-- after each and every shot, even if it's a drive. It gets very tiresome--and loathsome.

It's no longer a "gentleman's game"--at least as far as the fans go.

To me, the Golden State Warriors have become the hated Yankees of professional basketball.

On the court, they whine and cry about every foul--called or not. Draymond Green is the worst of all.

Seth Curry chewing on his mouth piece is disgusting.

The team interview on 60 Minutes recently cemented my negative feelings about the players. They were totally obnoxious, save one.

I can hardly stand to watch the playoffs. I'm a Hoosier--a basketball purist. The fouling, travels and double dribbling, the lack of team play, etc., make it difficult to enjoy. If I cared that much, I would have watched the last quarter last night. I went to bed. Happy I didn't see Golden State win by one point.

I don't usually watch baseball games on TV (boring), but with nothing else on (unless you're interested in the Trump saga), I watched a White Sox game last night. They were my team growing up in South Bend. Somewhere along the line, I switched allegiance to the Cubs.

Anyway, the game had several rarities: one was a triple play (plus 4 double plays), the other a grand slam on the batter's first ever home run. Pretty neat!

Quite a weekend of upsets, particularly highlighting the Kentucky Derby and the PGA Wells Fargo golf tourney. 65 to 1 odds winner Country Time wins the K.D. in a disqualification. And a guy ranked 417th in the world beats a tough field by 3 strokes.

Oh, and the Cubs swept the first place Cardinals!
