Just wanted to say a big ol' howdy, and bienvenidos, ya'll.

Hey Ya'll!  I have been "surfing" around the atheist websites forever and how I missed this massive one - well, let's just say I'm OLD! ;-) and a tad techno challenged.

I was born and raised for a minute in, drum roll, Panhandle, Texas.  Not the panhandle, but a tiny town by that name.  Go figure.  Anyhoo, moved to New Mexico, met and married the love of my life and moved to San Antonio...a somewhat less Texas city than most, in my humble opinion - tee to the hee.

My husband is an astonomer and a Mexican national with no desire for a green card, which just flabbergasts the gestapo at the border.  Why? they ask, would he not want to have a green card or become an Amerkin?  For the same reason I don't want to become a Mexican citizen.  So we are bi-national.  Is there a group for that? (chuckle)

I love being on here and roaming around and reading how wonderful my fellow atheists are...because make no mistake, we are.  And now, I've joined a group in Mexico too.  Wow, we rock!

Greetings one and all...

Welcome, Julie!  I'm in the DFW area, too, and we have quite a few active groups up here.  Given your location, the Metroplex Atheists will probably be the most convenient, but we've love you to also check out the Dallas/Plano Atheists and the Fellowship of Freethought (all on  There are even more than just those in the area depending on location (Frisco, Fort Worth, Denton, etc) and interest (Book Club, Philosophy, and so on).

Hello, Julie!  Good to meet ya!  I'm down southeast in the piney woods.

Sadly, this isn't the most active of threads...But a big Texas hug (or whatever makes you most comfortable!) for all of you guys! ;) I'm in the Mid-Cities area (between Dallas and Fort Worth), and I'd love to meet anybody or get involved in any atheist/freethinker groups around! :)
