Welcome new members!
Glad to have you here.
Hi everyone! Hope you are having a good weekend.
Sharon welcome to the group!
Hi, Sharon! I'm in Lufkin. I understand the isolation! I tried to get a group together over here. It didn't work. My wife clings to her christianity by her fingernails so there's no conversation at home either. I wouldn't mind some good conversations, either. At the moment I'm vehicular challenged but I might can make it to Palestine. I know someone in J'ville, too, I'll pass on info to. I am NOT libertarian. On FB I'm TexasBohemian, if you wanna give me a holler.
We lived in Maydelle back in '92. Sure you know where that is! Arg. Sure know how those backwoods folk are!
I grew up in Houston and I know the town. That's 150 miles away. Dallas is also 150 miles away.
I have to get a hotel room and spend the night anytime I go to civilization.
I clicked on the Houston Atheists link and got an error message.
Thanks Steph. He need to go the way of the dinosaurs. Better yet, he needs to crawl back into a test tube and burned.
I wish I could go with you to Denver dezilla. I have a schizoid uncle that has put out a warrant for my arrest because I refuse to go to church and he has told the court that I am a threat to myself and other people.
Sharon, try this group. You will have to join, but they have lots of activities.
Hi there fellow Heathens! I live South of Palestine in Houston County and I am VERY LONELY here! Can't find any creative, atheist, liberal people. I have a grand total of one friend in Crockett (besides hubby--we met at a large Unitarian church) that I can discuss art, classical music, literature and stuff like that with, and he is a graduate of Rice University. Even the people in the local book club seem to be mostly obsessed with Christianity and right-wing politics. I once tried to do a Meetup at my house and it was an utter failure. I can't get my friends to come see me from Houston--I guess everyone is working real hard. Is there anyone here that lives in East Texas that would drive to Houston County for a gabfest at my house? The freethinkers meetup in Tyler seems to be all libertarians. I cannot handle that.
