My sister has been a vegan for 50 years and has managed successfully. I could never do it.  Good luck to Larry.

Well then, lets hope it works.

Larry has a dreadful health problem that seems to be treatable with a strict vegan diet. We know he will not be able to maintain the regimen if the rest of us eat as usual. It is no big sacrifice to share his diet if we can all thrive on it. We don't know if this will help him but he has tried everything else. He is in intense pain and we will do anything to help him get relief.

For some reason, that sounds odd to me. Cutting back on fats, sugars, salts, & red meats, yes, but vegan?

Larry's dr. advised him to go on a vegan diet. We looked into what that meant. OK, so it doesn't look too bad ... except we agreed we were not willing to give up coffee with cream and sugar, hash browns with bacon, and eggs. Other than that, we may tip our big toe in the vegan pond.

Hm-mm, cold coffee, nyet; hot coffee, da. Most interesting.

I too once disliked cold coffee and the violin sound. Age came and I now like both. Now, most of my coffee goes down cold.

A peculiar pairing? A woman musician told me young men tend to dislike the violin sound but old men tend to like it.

Ice cream and the piano sound are forever.

Have you ever tried iced tea with soda water? I make the tea very strong with regular water, then add soda & lemon to the concentrate.

I just get the tea bags if that's all that's available, & rip them open. I like to choose the amount of tea per cup, glass, or pot.

I just can't drink cold coffee. Tea, now, is a different story. I love it both hot and iced. It's difficult finding loose leaf tea, however--especially green leaf.

I am looking at cold brewers for tea & coffee too. I like to choose my own sweetness levels, & I love these cold in the hot weather. Not to mention store bought is expensive.
