In the Navy in 1950 my “buddies” told me to drink it or skip the coffee break.Naive, I believed them but needed four teaspoons of sugar to make it drinkable.Several months ago read of cold-brew in…Continue

I stayed behind while the family goes off to clear out my home. We had a terrible rain storm yesterday and unsettled weather today. I am worn out.

My latest coffee purchases have been Seattle's Best #4. I find I need to change brands sometimes.

Good morning all. It's a stormy morning, but I'm not complaining. We need the rain.

My 8 year old grandson spent the night with me. He plays well with or without me. And he's glad he doesn't have to go to church with his grandmother (my ex). I have a feeling he's going to become an atheist like his grandfather! I'd love that.

He had cereal. I fixed an egg and strawberries, plus coffee. Doesn't look like I'm going to get in my daily walk. I need a break anyway.  Enjoy your day, wherever you are.

"By five-O-clock, I felt exhausted, brewed me a fresh cup of French press and had it with cream and sugar."

Joan, you inspired me to try French press.

Like cold brew, it's milder than conventional hot brew. No friend of ritual, I'm one grocery store visit away from using coffeebags and sun coffee.

For Larry.......

Cat has chicken pox.

Yes, hope it helps Larry.

Thanks, Patricia, Randy, and Plinius. Larry appreciates your concern.

Randy, I will tell Larry about your vegan sister; that will give him some cheer. He feels depressed and helpless at this point. When he was two years old he had polio that left him with one leg shorter than the other and muscle destruction. Now, in his retirement years, he is in dreadful pain that cannot be eased. It involves his spine because of the distortion of one leg shorter than the other, his sciatic nerve flares, his shoulders become weary trying to accommodate his deformity, and he has harrowing headaches.

How he stays cheerful most of the time amazes me.

I hope it works, Joan!
